Un raid accessible et inoubliable en Ténéré 700

Le Ténéré Travel Trophy, c’est plus qu’un simple événement moto : c’est un raid touristique à moto, un road trip tout-terrain, un défi convivial, et surtout une expérience unique en Ténéré 700.

Pas de chrono, pas de pression : on suit une trace GPX et on traverse des décors incroyables en mode aventurier moderne.

Le concept est accessible à tous les possesseurs de Ténéré 700, grâce à deux variantes de parcours :

Asphalte pour ceux qui préfèrent rester sur route

From the Africa Eco Race to the TransAnatolia

After successfully completing the Africa Eco Race 2025, Laurent Cochet isn’t slowing down. His next destination: the Transanatolia, a European-flavored rally raid, where he’ll once again ride the new Ténéré 700 Rally 2025!

To kick off 2025 in style, Laurent joined our team to take on the legendary Africa Eco Race aboard a Ténéré 700 GYTR.

But before hitting the African tracks, a mandatory step: a roadbook training session with Loïc Minaudier, using the GYTR-equipped Ténéré. The goal? Fine-tune his navigation skills and get comfortable with the bike in race conditions. Fortunately, Laurent is no stranger to rally raids or desert riding—he had already completed the Africa Eco Race in the past.

And once again, he tackled the challenge brilliantly—thanks to his experience, discipline… and a touch of that trademark “Lolo” madness!

Ténéré 700 GYTR: A Rally-Ready Machine

To perform in a rally raid, you need a solid rider—and a bike built for the job. The Yamaha Ténéré 700, fitted with GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing) components, ticks all the right boxes:

This intense week allowed us to put the new machine to the test in real race conditions.

THE TÉNÉRÉ SPIRIT EXPERIENCE AT THE CARTA RALLY 2025

2000 km later, a major first for the Ténéré Spirit Experience: we’ve proudly completed the Carta Rallye!

It was our first participation in this rally and also the debut rally-raid for our two new Ténéré 700 Rally bikes. For this Moroccan adventure, we were joined by Alessandro Botturi and Gautier Paulin, alongside eight amateur riders.

This rally was a first for Gautier Paulin and Kevin Gallas, who were discovering motorcycle rally-raid and roadbook navigation. Well prepared, with solid riding experience, they still felt a bit of apprehension at the start.

Gautier Paulin aimed to apply everything he had learned from Loïc Minaudier and follow Jordi Arcarons‘ advice: no pressure, just a personal challenge, having fun, and avoiding navigation errors.

Kevin Gallas, always smiling, simply wanted not to get lost and to enjoy riding the Ténéré 700 GYTR.

And yet, both riders far exceeded those initial goals!

Some of our riders joined the rally as a form of training: Yann Duprey and Bertrand Gavard are already eyeing the Africa Eco Race 2026. The Carta Rallye offered a great chance to get familiar with the Ténéré 700 GYTR in Moroccan terrain.

Nicolas Charlier, a true competitor, wanted to continue building on his impressive performance at the Africa Eco Race 2025.

Finally, Jérôme Clastre and Frédéric Murat were making their debut in the Racing category.

Despite arriving a bit under the weather after a weekend of racing in Italy, seasoned rally-raid Alessandro Botturi took the Carta Rallye start with his usual determination.

The Stages of the Carta Rally

The rally began at Plage Blanche, with a legendary setting reminiscent of the Enduropale, and a first stage of 373 km.

Just 20 km into Stage 1, the riders were met with their first dune sections—a major test for those discovering the Ténéré 700 in this terrain.

While the Ténéré 700 offers excellent stability on tracks, it requires experience to master in dunes.

The Carta Rallye featured one shakedown and seven stages ranging from 183 km to 390 km. Navigation was technical, with tightly spaced notes, and each stage offered its own mix of challenges across varied landscapes.

Stage 2: Kevin Gallas wins, Gautier Paulin takes 2nd
Stage 3: Gallas finishes 2nd
Stages 4 & 5: Botturi 3rd

Gautier Paulin finishes 3rd overall, thanks to consistent riding and few penalties

Five Ténéré 700 GYTRs in the top 10: an incredible result!

Yann Duprey completed his very first rally-raid in 31st position. Steady and determined—bravo for rising to the challenge!

And the Raid category?

Initially entered: Patrick Morisseau and Alessandro Biglioli, later joined by Jérôme and Frédéric, who switched from Racing to Raid.

This switch is possible during the rally if Racing becomes too demanding, though switching from Raid to Racing is not allowed.

Alessandro Biglioli :

“What mattered most to me was the accessibility. Even without much desert experience, we were able to push our limits safely. No pressure, and an incredible opportunity to learn, especially with advice from Stéphane Peterhansel.”

Our Raid riders were accompanied by Jordan, an AMIS team doctor, a huge asset during the rally.

And the cherry on top: Stéphane Peterhansel, aka “Monsieur Dakar,” joined the team in Merzouga for the final stages. Our riders had the privilege to ride with him and benefit from his expert advice.

Gautier PAULIN on the Carta Rallye

Former motocross rider Gautier Paulin is taking on a new challenge! In April 2025, he will compete in the Carta Rallye in Morocco, riding a Yamaha Ténéré 700 GYTR. This will be his first motorcycle rally-raid, a major milestone that he will tackle alongside us: Team Officiel Yamaha Ténéré Rally.

A rally-raid is not something you can improvise! To prepare for roadbook navigation, Gautier Paulin attended a training session at our Ténéré Center in Aveyron with Loïc Minaudier, a navigation expert, to master the essential fundamentals of rally-raid.

Carta rally 2025: A 2,000 km challenge across Morocco

The Carta Rally 2025 represents 2,000 km of adventure, spread over 7 days through some of Morocco’s most beautiful landscapes: dunes, ergs, tracks and roads will be on the program.

An off-road training course for a day?

Off-roading with a Ténéré 700 or any other trail bike can be an exciting experience, but it requires a certain level of technical skill, especially depending on the type of terrain. To ride safely and avoid risks, it’s essential to prepare and take a training course.

That’s why the Mutuelle des Motards, as a two-wheeler insurer, offers one-day training courses: the Open Trails. These courses are organized in various regions of France and are accessible to motorcyclists of all levels.

The Open Trail: a comprehensive training for all levels.

The Open Trail is a day dedicated to motorcycle training, organized by the Mutuelle des Motards. This event focuses on friendliness and the passion for off-roading, while emphasizing safety. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in practical workshops on handling, obstacles, techniques, and riding on a secure circuit, guided by professional instructors.

Program of the day

In the morning, participants are divided into small groups based on their skill level to ensure personalized learning. Each group is assigned a dedicated instructor: professional riders and enthusiasts from the Mutuelle des Motards. These instructors will guide you throughout the day to ensure your safety and progression.

Morning workshops:

Handling: Learn how to control your bike on different types of terrain.
Obstacle Crossing: Master the techniques to safely navigate obstacles.
Riding: Put the techniques you’ve learned into practice in real-world conditions.

In the afternoon: the practical session. Each group will go for a riding session of about 2 hours, mainly focusing on off-roading on a course tailored to the skill level of each group.

The instructors are professional and passionate riders, including Marc Bourgeois, our Team Manager, who is one of the instructors. With their expertise, you will receive personalized guidance tailored to your skill level, allowing you to progress quickly and safely.

A rally-raid in Europe for adventure enthusiasts

The TransAnatolia is one of Europe’s largest rally-raids, offering a unique experience for riders of all levels. Held annually in early September, this unmissable event promises a week of adventure and self-challenge, covering more than 2,200 km across Turkey.

A diverse and demanding terrain

With a route that alternates between mountains, vast plains, rocky trails, gravel, and dirt, the TransAnatolia immerses riders in breathtaking landscapes. This 8-day rally-raid is designed to be accessible to all, while still providing a technical challenge for experienced riders.

Over the years, this rally has become legendary, not only for its stunning routes but also for its high level of competition. Each edition varies in distance, ranging from 2,200 to 2,700 km, ensuring a new and thrilling experience every time.

Two categories: Raid & Racing

This rally is open to two main categories:

Raid: The perfect formula for those who want to enjoy the journey without the pressure of competition, while experiencing an extraordinary adventure.
Racing: Designed for skilled riders, featuring intense competition with a dedicated twin-cylinder ranking, where Alessandro Botturi claimed victory in 2024.

Experienced racers will have the chance to train for long-distance marathons, while amateurs can enhance their skills on challenging stages.
